Alzheimer’s/Dementia

My father has Sundowners, a form of dementia. Several of his sisters had dementia. My stepmother has Alzheimer’s. She no longer remembers I am someone she loves. Those who have experienced the grief of “the long good bye” of a loved one, also understand the need to reach out for help in planning and managing the future.

Since I have personal experience with this disease and its outcomes, I also understand how to plan for now and for the future, how to find experts, and the need for connections. It is important to have financial plans and legal documents in place as you move through this process.

I also volunteer with the Granbury Alzheimer’s Association as a way of supporting this cause.

Community Work:

I had the opportunity in May of 2025 to visit our Texas State Capitol to advocate for our legislators to increase Alzheimer's funding for the Texas Memory Net to provide care and support for the nearly 500K Texans with the disease and the 1.1M who care for them.

Thank you to the staff of Senator Royce West and Senator Bob Hall for meeting with us! We appreciate your support!
