My father had Sundowners, a form of dementia. Several of his sisters had dementia. My stepmother had Alzheimer’s for more than fifteen years. She no longer remembered I was someone she loved. Those who have experienced the grief of “the long goodbye” of a loved one, also understand the need to reach out for help in planning and managing the future.

Since I have personal experience with this disease and its outcomes, I also understand how to plan for now and for the future, how to find experts, and the need for connections. It is important to have financial plans and legal documents in place as you move through this process.
